Gersi, located at 1,900–2,300 meters above sea level in the Yirgacheffe region of Ethiopia’s Southern Nations, Nationalities, and Peoples’ Region (SNNPR), is a place where coffee cultivation is deeply intertwined with community life and identity.

The name Gersi means “cooperation,” reflecting how families and neighbors gather during harvest season to hand-pick ripe cherries. The cherries are traditionally processed as naturals and slowly dried on raised African beds, resulting in a cup that carries both vibrant fruitiness and delicate floral elegance.
