A small coffee shop in the countryside of Hokkaido. Atsuma is a place where the sea and mountains are close, the sky feels wide, and life is surrounded by rich nature. In this beautiful setting, we hope to share calm and meaningful moments through coffee. We aim to serve coffees that hold the breath of their producers and the memory of their lands. Some are chosen after feeling the wind and air of the origin myself; others after listening to the stories of those who have traveled there, painting the landscapes and people vividly in my mind. In roasting and brewing, I listen for those voices, meeting each cup with full attention. The name “canaan” comes from the Old Testament, meaning “The Promised Land” and “A Place of Rest.” We hope it will be a place where visitors can relax, let go, and feel their hearts unwind—one cup at a time, here in this land.
