エチオピア南部シダマ。標高2,330〜2,380mの高地に位置するWene農園は、周囲を山や川に囲まれ、エチオピアでは珍しい黒土が広がる豊かな環境にあります。
若き生産者Age氏が手がけるWene農園。「Wene」という名前は、この農園で発見された猿の名前に由来します。農園はShetame、K、Mariwoの3つの区画に分けられており、今回のロットはMariwo区画で栽培されたエチオピア原生品種74110です。
収穫されたチェリーは未熟果を取り除いた後、レイズドベッドに薄く広げてナチュラル精製。1日2回丁寧に攪拌しながら、4〜5週間かけてゆっくりと乾燥させることで、果実の甘さを引き出しながらクリーンな味わいに仕上げられています。
カップからはレッドチェリーやベリーを思わせる瑞々しい果実感、イエローピーチやデラウェアのような柔らかな甘さ、そして華やかなフローラル。
シルキーで丸みのある質感と、果実の甘さが長く続く余韻が印象的な、Wene農園ならではの密度を感じる一杯です。

Ethiopia Wene Mariwo 74110 Natural

Located in Sidama, southern Ethiopia, Wene Farm sits at an elevation of 2,330–2,380 meters, surrounded by mountains and rivers. The farm is blessed with fertile black soil, which is relatively uncommon in Ethiopia.
Wene Farm is managed by the young producer Age. The name “Wene” comes from a monkey discovered on the farm. The land is divided into three sections—Shetame, K, and Mariwo—and this lot is produced from the Ethiopian landrace variety 74110 grown in the Mariwo section.
After harvesting, unripe cherries are carefully removed before the selected cherries are spread in thin layers on raised beds for natural processing. They are turned twice a day and slowly dried for four to five weeks, developing rich fruit sweetness while maintaining a clean cup profile.
The cup reveals juicy notes of red cherry and berries, layered with the gentle sweetness of yellow peach and Delaware grape, followed by delicate floral aromatics.
Silky and rounded in texture, with a long, fruit-driven sweetness, this coffee beautifully expresses the distinctive character and depth of Wene Farm.
